Last race of this year for the Tecla, and this time we have WON!!! With 17 competing ships we have won in our class (B, with 7 ships) and became 4th overall!! We started our race from Ilhavo, Portugal, but could not race the first 3 days due to a lack of wind.. We motored our way down for 225 miles and raced the last 400 miles. We finished in 77 hours. Now some people who have raced with us before might wonder what got damaged this time..? Well we had to finish without the jip, 17 hours before the finish, the jib got dipped in the water as the halliardblock broke and tore the halliard itself. Within 10 minutes the sail was back on board.

It has been a fantastic race. We started of without wind, got a few hours of strong winds and gusts up to 35 knots, but finished with a beatifull strong breeze!!

Now we are at Madeira. We are having very beautifull weather and are enjoing the magnificent surroundings. In a few days we will be heading back to Holland, wich will be the end of the season.

Beforer this race, there was the race from Falmouth to llhavo. In this race we finished 2d of our class and 8th overall. Here we also started without wind, but this time we did not get any strong winds and had one big competer more in our class. In Ilhavo we got a very warm welcome.
