Sail training on the Tecla

This videoclip was made to give you an impression of the Tecla and what you can expect during one of her amazing trips around the world.

I would like to thank Pedro for making this possible! He shot all this material during our Tall Ships regatta form Falmouth to Ilhavo. We came in second in our class.

Perro loco

Dag, mijn naam is Nyske. Ik ben de scheepshond van de Tecla, bij sommige bekent als Perro Loco. Ik weet niet wat dat precies betekend, maar ze kijken wel vrolijk als ze me zo noemen. Mijn bazen zijn allemaal erg druk, Jet heeft me dan ook gevraagd om een stukje te schrijven voor het logboek, is weer eens iets anders dacht ze..

Op de Tecla is het werk aan het tuig weer begonnen. Gelukkig kunnen ze binnen in een schuur werken, want het is wel koud in Nederland! Helaas waren mijn al wat oude botten snel weer afgekoeld na Madeira. Ik hoop dat we dit jaar weer zulke mooie reizen gaan maken. Ik heb gehoord dat het vaak mooi weer is op Bermuda!!

Nou ik draai me nog eens om op de bank en hoop dat Jan dadelijk weer gaat koken en ik een stukje kaas mag! Ik hoop jullie weer te zien aan boord. Ze hebben beloofd een mooi hokje voor mij achterop te maken, jullie zijn altijd welkom om me even te komen aaien!

Hi, my name is Nyske, I am the ships dog on the Tecla, some might know me as Perro Loco. I am not sure what that means, but they always look happy when they call me this. My bosses are very bussy, so Jet asked me to write something for the log. A different view so to say.

Work has begun on the Tecla. Lucky for them they can work inside, because it is very cold in Holland!! My old bones got very cold very quick after we left the warm sunshine on Madeira. I hope we will make many beautiful trips like that this year. I heard that the weather on Bermuda is very nice as well!

Well I am going to go back to laying on the sofa, hope Jan is going to make dinner soon and gives me some cheese! Hope to see you on board! They promised to build me a little box on the back, you are welcome to pet me there, anytime!
